News from NEPP

8/31/07: Note from Board President, Melinda Beasi

Over the past year and a half, we've learned a lot what NEPP can offer the local community here, and one of the things that has become most clear to us is that, though the *purpose* of our organization remains on target, the primary means we had originally chosen for pursuing it is not the most effective for our area. The Pioneer Valley is rich with play readings and workshops for adults who write for theater. What NEPP *can* provide, however, is solid training for young people interesting in writing and performing theater, and that is what we will continue to pursue. With this in mind, NEPP is no longer accepting script submissions for readings or production. Thanks to all who have submitted scripts to us over the past year. We will be returning those that arrived with return envelopes as soon as we can.

Our greatest success as an organization to date has been our first summer program for teenagers, which took place last year in South Hadley. Over the next few months, we will be seeking out new space and new opportunities to present further programs of this kind. Watch this page for details as they become available!
